Our Day

I feel the need to share some of the highlights from our day! Maybe you can find some entertainment in our misfortune. haha. A little background: Elliot and Ezra were at the doc. on Friday with ear infections and put on an antibiotic, Levi has a nasty cold, us parents are fine, and we have our good friend, Sean, visiting us.

...I wake up this morning to El crying and yelling "Somebody HELP me, MOMMY help me!" I go in to her room (where Wes already is and trying to console her). She's laying on the floor, huge tears, saying her "tummy hurts." Darn antibiotics have her belly all torn up. Babies wake up and we go to their room. Levi hasn't eaten in a while, nurses a lot. Breastmilk + snot apparently do NOT mix!! He looks at me, coughs, then PUKES all over! I sat there and just took it. Closed my eyes and it just kept coming. AWFUL. I was covered from my neck to my pants....soaked! Handed kids over to Wes and went to get a shower. Get to my bathroom and start gagging myself. Mostly because all I could think of was "this shirt has to go over my head!" AHH. Thought about going paramedic-style and cutting it off, but I like my shirt. Also thought about just getting in the shower with it on. Then, I just decided to be a big girl and get it off.

Part of the day is uneventful. Besides the fact that Ezra also has diarrhea from the antibiotic and now has an awful diaper rash. OH, I just feel terrible for them! Elliot and I baked some Valentine's cookies for some neighbors and then went to deliver them. She was still in her pajamas. (PJ Pants, a very clashing long sleeved PJ top, with a sleeveless night gown on top, hair not brushed! I should have taken a picture)

I run out to the grocery store and get a call. "When are you going to be home?" I was already almost here. Apparently Elliot thought it was a good idea to use toe nail clippers to take a nice chunk out of Ezra's finger (like he didn't have enough issues going on already!) Pretty bloody mess. She got him good. Wes and Sean has made a make-shift bandage from the adult sized stuff we had. Looked decent.

Everyone goes to bed this evening. Ez wakes up with poo pants & just can't go back to sleep. POOR thing! He's hanging out with us, relaxing with his Daddy. I try to give him some Cheerio's & he actually starts eating them (hasn't wanted to eat much the last few days). He's happy, eating, drinking some water. Then, he coughs a little and PUKES ALL over Wes! It was hilarious! We all just laughed. I mean, what else could happen?

I'm honestly not too hopeful about getting much sleep tonight. The doc. will be called in the morning. I will NOT give the kids one more dose of this belly upsetting medicine. I know you are supposed to finish antibiotics once you start them, but this is like torture. Can't do it. Wouldn't keep taking it myself so I can't make them do it.

*NOTE: about 30 seconds after I "published" this post, I heard El yelling from bed (11pm). She's crying because her legs hurt. I think it's a legitimate complaint because she was stating they were bothering her at dinner. Went ahead and gave her some Tylenol that I conveniently picked up while at Walmart earlier today. Maybe it'll still be in her system to help with the belly pain that will probably start in a few hours.

....as I was leaving her room I already heard a baby. Won't be long till I'm needed again. Maybe I'll go do something more productive than type....like TRY to sleep! ;-)

I know there is a pukey virus, and a tummy/cold virus going around. We all had that one and your whole body aches, and can't eat and lasted a few days. Not sure the type of antibiotics they gave you, but I know two of them in the past they have given Hailey gave her extreme tummy issues.Maybe for El a little ginger tea and crackers? That helps Hailey.. Hopefully things get better for y'all soon!
