Hard to believe I got through an entire pregnancy with twins without mentions of bed rest, and here I am at almost 16 weeks pregnant with a singleton and told I need to be on bed rest!! It's frustrating. I previously did my research, and don't think there's much positive about bed rest. It really just makes everyone feel better about the outcome, and there's nothing really proven that it works. But, once those words are spoken to you it's scary!
I ended up at the ER (again!) last night for severe bleeding. Of course I thought it was the hematoma. When they did the ultrasound I got VERY confused. The blood clot is not where it was before and now appears to be ON the placenta? At least, that is what I am gathering from the vague information I can get from doctors. I have no idea what this means for us in the long run. Of course the ultrasound report says "can not rule out placental abruption." Maybe they have to put that to cover themselves....but also VERY scary! Esp since I have a friend who just lost her full term baby due to abruption. Granted, it's still too early to do anything to save this baby if anything did happen.
On a happy note: the baby looks WONDERFUL! It was so active and the heartbeat was still around 155 bpm. I HATE to think it could all end in seconds if the placenta detaches! It's so healthy right now!!
hmm....I guess all this is just for me to vent. Gotta get it out. In the meantime, please pray for this baby!!

Oh Erin! I'm so sorry, what a stressful thing to go thru! I think the doctors always have to make it sound like the worst case scenario just to cover themselves. We went thru a scary situation with this pregnancy a couple months ago and they were telling us it could be all sorts of things, including downs. Then it all went away and everything is fine now. But from the way they made it sound, we thought for sure there was something dreadfully wrong with our baby. Anyway, I really hope this goes away quickly too. I'll be thinking of you and that baby.
I'm praying!
I am thinking about all of you too. PLEASE let me know if I can do ANYTHING!
